Valid criticisms. You can see the FBI operates in a morally grey manner with a "necessary evil" philosophy. I can imagine it's difficult to tow the line, to do the greater good in an evil world, and very likely that sometimes people in the agency pursue their own self-interests. However, as a businessman I can see parallels to how companies operate, on paradigms of risk and reward, rather than right and wrong. The general public only holds a higher morality than their rulers, because they don't have to make complex moral choices. You benefit from the system created and maintained by the "necessary evil" people that only play the game for resources and power. Your nation / workplace is a safe bubble full of resources that the strategically thinking thieves and murderers brought home with their raids.
