The false cries of anti-semitism

I can't believe I even have to write about this because in my opinion, this kind of thing should be obvious. Ilhan Omar has been in hot water after criticizing AIPAC's influence on lobbyists. This has led to people on both sides of the aisle smearing her as an anti-semite. The silence of those "progressive" Democrats speaks volumes. Alexandria Ocasio Cortez had tweeted this in response.

I find this response to be milquetoast at best. Ilhan did nothing wrong. That should be the first argument front and center. Followed by "her statement was about money in politics, and nothing to do with any anti-semetic tropes". This is no different than criticizing the NRA, Big Pharma, Exxon Mobil, or Raytheon for buying our politicians and anyone who thinks otherwise can take the bus to ShutTheFuckUpsVille, as Kyle Kulinski of Secular Talk puts it.

By the way, I don't want to hear another goddamned word about Russia meddling in our politics. Russia spending $4700 worth of puppy memes and pictures of Jesus arm-wrestling Satan vs the Israeli government spending 3,518,028 to bribe our politicians for pro-Israel policies? Forgive me if one looks more like collusion over the other.

There is also a hypocrisy to this. Ben "facts over feelings unless it's my feelings" Shapiro had once said that calling someone a bigot for disagreeing with you is bullying, yet he was more than willing to call Ilhan Omar an anti-semite. No surprise he supports money in politics under the defense of "money = speech". And then here's what Donnie tiny-hands Trump had to say:
Yes, the same president who called Nazis "very fine people" wants to scold Ilhan over anti-semitism. Ironic right?

Here's the problem with these false cries of anti-semitism: it's renders the term meaningless. It's like the old story your parents at some point read to you, The Boy Who Cried Wolf. Now when anyone cries anti-semitism where it's actually there, it becomes an eye-roll.
