We're not far away from elected officials becoming completely irrelevant. DAO's will disrupt the legal/political system in the same way that bitcoin will disrupt the banking system.

Agree it will happen one day !
First will come disruption of the banking system. Then the existing governments of the world will be forced to downsize and chaos will erupt. Then after a period of uncertainty, with old authority trying to reassert itself, DAO's will come forward to wipe them out or put them in their place.
In the mean time we have to worry about a digital panopticon becoming increasingly powerful. When IT such as this is possible, nobody will be safe from tyrants. The only real answer to this is to make sure plan B includes guns and self sufficiency.
