This pond is mainly natural. I just run an air stone in it all year round.
I have another pond which has a home made filter system which is mats, then alfagrog, then a moving bed and lastly it showers over lava rocks.

Nice! I love natural ponds. Was in the process of digging one up in the anticipation of getting some ducks to go along with my chickens, but the local fox had other plans so I scrapped it. Hope to have a natural swimmin' hole some day when I get some land.
