WELCOME TO PORTHARCOURT NIGHT LIFE.

Greetings from here great steemians. Just from an admirable inspiration of my vicinity I then decided to create an article, spelling out in details just what life looks like in the city of Portharcourt at night. I haven't forgotten so soon the last time I wrote of Portharcourt city giving a vivid pictorial representation of how the streets in the city looks during Boxing Day, the 26th of December.

So in this article I'll simply share to world a clear mirror of how things are during night time. I've seen pictures of NewYork city at night. and I know how my hormones become awakened making me awe bringing joy in my heart whenever I see the lights, everywhere in the city on tall buildings and street lights, I then start wondering what it could really feel like when I'm walking right in those streets live, I'm actually looking forward to that but then, what actually makes it up for me is the beautiful nightlife right in the locality if Ph city.

Ph City, popularly known as the Garden city, founded in 1912 by Sir Frederick lugard governor of both the Northern and southern protectorates. The main purpose for creating Portharcourt was more of a geological reason, Its purpose was to export the coal that geologist Albert Ernest Kitson had discovered in Enugu in 1909. The city later became the capital of Rivers State.

The city was named after Lewis Vernon Harcourt, the then British secretary of states for the colonies from 1910-1915, though I keep wondering why the city was actually named after this man, I mean he wasn't in anyway having a contribution to the emergence of this city or neither was he having or holding any political affiliation with this city, so I'm wondering why the city was named after him, it was stated that as at the time Portharcourt was founded in 1912 giving it a name was a bit of a confusion. Later in August 1913, the governor general of Nigeria, Sir Lord Lugard passed a message across to Lewis Harcourt asking him for his permission to name the city after him, these events brought out the name Portharcourt as Sir Lewis Harcourt saw this as an honour.
Well that was just a brief insight on the history of this great City.

Portharcourt with an area code of 084 lies on the geographical coordinates of 4° 47' 21" N, 6° 59' 54" E. It is widely engaged with commercial activities and one of the most busiest cities in Nigeria aside Lagos and Onitcha. Portharcourt could be really very busy at day time especially during the noon hours, traffic could be a challenge some days. But how about the night time.
Night time in Portharcourt is the most interesting part of it all. Night time in Portharcourt is what a whole lot of individuals who are resident find to be very enticing and entertaining. This is a time where a huge amount of peace is found in the air as residents come out from thier homes to Chil with friends and neighbors under the peaceful moonlight . Some go out to the bars to have a drink or two with thier dudes others go for the bars to meet-up Man-u and Chelsea marches , while some others head for the suya stand( 🔥 roasted meat).
To many others, this is the right time to go for their shopping after a long busy day time.

The amazing and exciting thing about this city is that You don't need to be so rich to join the fun at night, you can catch the fun by simply engaging in a short humble night stroll, feeding your eyes with the interesting engagements of the environment.

One of the loving experiences you can get at night time is the glorifying harmony of the lights, the street lights most especially. IN this part of Portharcourt where there are a large numbers of newly installed street lights has added a great deal to the beauty of this environment. There are a whole lot of tourists attractions present as well in Portharcourt ranging from tourist parks to recreational resorts, which I wouldn't want to spell out intensively, though in respect to the purpose of this particular article.
