street photography - bay to breakers portrait - entry 1 for #portraitcontest theme "Fun Portraits"

This street portrait taken in Golden Gate Park during the Bay to Breakers event in San Francisco is my first entry for theme Fun Portraits in the Steemit Portrait Photography Contest, #portraitcontest, by @jasonrussell/@portraitcontest with guest judge @jfolkmann.

Bay to Breakers is a yearly recurring event where people run/walk from the San Francisco Bay through the city and Golden Gate Park to Ocean Beach, a distance of 12km (baytobreakers.com). The course has several hills with grade up to 11% so it isn't an easy run. The event happened again last weekend but since I wasn't there this year I've chosen a photo from a few years ago. Some contestants take it very seriously and run all the way, others take it as a fun event and many show up in costume (or none - this is San Francisco after all...) This photo was taken close to the finish so most people were tired but in a happy mood that it was almost over...
