The thing with people who crave power by all means is that, they are mostly caught in the web of pretence; a pretentious nature of claiming to be who they are not. Power is sweet and as sweet as it is, really contagious. This attitude to hold on to power makes many do whatever they can to stay in the corridors of power.

It is understandable to want to be seen as being powerful and above others.
Power is sexy. Power is threatening. Power is tortuous. Power is romantic. Power is deceitful. Power is secretive. Power is life. Power is pain. Power is love. Nothing can truly replace the Hunger for power; and many will die waiting to have it.
Stop seeking to be a man of power and chase after being relevant doing what good the world will be glad you brought to bear on it.
Be you and follow through with what makes you happy. When you are happy doing what makes you happy and also being able to drop some tons of goodness on the world, you will feel and become powerful beyond measures.
