Nate here! I'm the CEO of PredictEV. For those of you that haven't heard of PredictEV, you can think of it as Steem + Augur/Gnosis. Utilizing its natively-issued cryptocurrency, PredictEV rewards users for composing and curating quality predictive analysis based on a combination of the crowd's input (i.e. upvotes), as well as the accuracy of the analysis. Data from sources such as sportsbooks, stock options markets, and prediction markets (like Augur or Gnosis) can be utilized as part of PredictEV's reward algorithm.

To give you a better idea of what I mean, I've included an excerpt from our whitepaper below. This excerpt is only meant to give you a quick overview of PredictEV's core functionality though - our vision for PredictEV is much broader, as discussed in our whitepaper (link here).

Over the last two months I've been reaching out to some members of the Steem community to discuss my team's work. Whitepaper Excerpt

When discussing prediction markets, the “wisdom of the crowd” is often presented as the most powerful indicator of future events. However, analytical insight is always required to satisfy the curiosity and diligence of the world’s investors and bettors. In particular, as the prediction-market space continues to evolve, the appetite for quality predictive analysis will only increase.

PredictEV – pronounced like the word “predictive” – is a gamified, prediction-focused social network where users earn cryptocurrency rewards for posting and endorsing quality predictive analysis regarding upcoming sports, eSports, and investment events. Users share their insights in the form of a “prediction post.” This post includes a user’s objectively-verifiable prediction, such as “the Eagles will beat the Patriots in the Super Bowl,” as well the user’s analysis supporting why the prediction will come true. This reasoning can be presented in any form the user wants, whether that be with text, video, or images, or even with links to third party content that the user finds convincing.

As in Steem, authors and curators earn rewards based on user upvotes. However, to incentivize accuracy, authors and curators of posts containing correct predictions also earn multiplier rewards, the value of which is calculated based on the expected likelihood of the predicted event occurring. An event's "expected likelihood" can be determined based on data from, for example, a prediction market, sportsbook, or stock options market.
