PRETORIA CHURCH SQUARE 1930's
An aerial photograph of Church Square taken probably around 1932 or 1933.
Note the Raadzaal on the left and across the the road building activities.
This is where the Standard Bank Building was finished in 1934.
The Square is not a circle: the half on the right (with the Raadzaal) is almost square and was designed along the lines of Trafalgar Square in London; the half on the left (with the Palace of Justice) was designed along the lines of the Place de la Concorde in Paris, France.
