3D-Printable Guns Well...

Cody Wilson, founder of Defense Distributed, a non-profit organization, was going to be uploading downloadable files that can be used to print guns on Wednesday, August 1st 2018. Not just any guns, with the right printer, we're talking about solid, reliable working AR-15s, 9 mm, and more. The kind of guns that some people want to keep out of the hands of other people by using different people with these guns to make sure that some can't have these guns.

As of right now, Mr. Wilson's plans are not downloadable according to the New York Times. https://www.nytimes.com/2018/07/31/us/politics/3d-guns-trump.html?partner=IFTTT
A judge has put a stop to it, but only temporarily.

The most fascinating part about this case is that Mr. Wilson isn't fighting in court on a second amendment basis, he's fighting on a first amendment basis. It seems as though his argument is to the affect that what kind of information should one be allowed to learn or have? He seems to think that we have a right to learn about whatever we want. If he were to write out all of the instructions and put them in a book could that book be allowed to be checked out at the library? Forget the contents for a minute. If he is stopped and censured, and this is very much a censorship issue, what else can the government decide that we adults can or can't have access to, or share with our friends?

If the government can stop this man from uploading this what's next? Linux? I'm not even a hacker, but I recently downloaded a Kali Linux OS for my laptop. It's loaded with tools for hacking, password breaking, location stuff, and I can't use any of it right now. However, the amount of power put into the suite of hacking tools which can be downloaded for free is ridiculous. I would even venture to say that it's a greater threat to national security than 3D Printed Guns. Considering they say cyber warfare is the most pressing issue in this day and age of technology. Then the government can make it illegal to use download TOR, or use some Operating system that doesn't track every single thing we do.

I'm a felon, I'm not poor, but I'm not rich. I don't live paycheck to paycheck but I don't think I'm going to spent the funds to buy the type of 3D printer needed to make a reliable gun. What I will do, if I should so happen to desire to be in the possession of a weapon, is buy one. a metal one, already put together, with bullets and everything. The issue that Mr. Wilson is raising isn't about gun control, it's about freedom control.
