The decision-making process of adolescents

Adolescents use emotional amygdala instead of logical frontal cortex when interpreting information as in decision making. This causes the adolescents to have difficulty in understanding what they read, to pass through the filter and to interpret them.

From time to time, I see that young people who have been coaching students find lessons that require comments. Young people who do not doubt any of their wits, such as poison, read the long paragraphs, read and interpret and have a hard time to judge.

Those who were already going to take the university exam were more likely to stretch out rather than to measure the information, but to measure how they used this information. And what is the reason? It is probably the easiest to put the crime into the education system, but the most important reason is that the adolescent brain is still under construction.

I mentioned the writing process of adolescents in my article; While the amygdala division of the brain, which provides rapid reactions like fear, anger, develops at a very young age, the frontal cortex responsible for functions such as planning, reasoning, decision-making, organizing does not yet reach its final state in adolescence.
