My work with Processing

in #processing6 years ago (edited)

Processing is a flexible software sketchbook and a language for learning how to code within the context of the visual arts. Since 2001, Processing has promoted software literacy within the visual arts and visual literacy within technology. There are tens of thousands of students, artists, designers, researchers, and hobbyists who use Processing for learning and prototyping.

creative coding

When I was in school I was introduced to Processing and messed around with it a little bit. I wish I had time to play around with Processing more now but I don't.

I recently featured an artist on Steemit, @patternsandwich, on @artzone because he was sharing some of his processing sketches. The post got me psyched and I hope he shares more of his "digital gunk" that he saves as screenshots on his hard drive to unearth at a later date.

Steem and Processing goes so good together. Artists learning how to code.

On these first couple, I programmed the mouse to leave behind pixels where the mouse went, like a drawing app. I'm sure I copied the code from somewhere and just executed it to try it out and see if I could Frankenstein it. But the rest of these that I am going to share I basically coded from scratch.

You don't get to see the image as you are making it. You can run the code at any time, but if there is a semicolon in the wrong spot, you will just get an error. So the trial and error of art making is much different.

interesting! I bought a linux laptop and I could probably use this - thanks!

Yes! Its really a unique way to make art because you create the code, makes it 1000 times more original than using a digital software drawing application where all the users are equip with the same "supplies"

Wow! This is amazing....Thumbs up.

cool!
