The Ultimate Class Project?

This image got me to thinking such an app would not be hard to make. Getting the behavior records could be difficult, but that's where lawyers come in handy.

The app could be a basic three tier system. A database of the officer data, a web server to process the requests from and the app. As I thought more about this, the idea of young people, especially in the communities most affected by the police, developing the app and supporting infrastructure took root.

The resources are there, many for free; Codecademy, SoloLearn and W3Schools offer tutorials on the languages and other software that would be needed. A local LINUX users group or a local 2600 meeting may have access to server space.

There's the matter of interest and time. This project would require committed instructors and motivated students.

But the benefits would extend beyond the app. This project would give the participants skills that would put them in a field that lacks people of color.
