Working On A Project And Talking About It

in #project6 years ago

For the past month, Sofiane and Inès have been preparing a project to present to the children and parents of their science group. You might as well say that this is a serious matter for children almost 9 and 12 years old. They put in a lot of fun. I helped but in the end not so much, I gave them ideas and tips but everything else is them.
Here is Inès painting her huge cardboard that we wandered all day long in the transports, we had two meetings that day, skiing and presentation, in short, they were motivated.

To avoid getting stained she made an apron with a plastic bag.

Here Sofiane polishes her text.

Inès revises her text, Sofiane too, one can see her foot, she lying on the floor, waiting for her turn while reading her text.

Here they cut out the images and texts they have printed for their design.

D-Day is here! Inès opens her design.

We can see here that she takes a few seconds to look at it; it is a very much anticipated day for her.

Here she is demonstrating before the families passing by her booth. She chose the following theme:"Why do eggs become white when they are stirred?" Science in food.

Her text remains close to her because it's really an exciting situation for her to have to talk in front of a lot of people but she's doing great. The first explanation was a bit complicated but the more time she spent, the more comfortable she was in her speeches and explanations.

This is Sofiane's booth. So the first family saw Sofiane a little shy and stammering but after 15 minutes, she was good in her sneakers and responded with a lot of confidence and pace.
Her theme was "How can such large planes fly? Sofiane has enormous knowledge on the subject; she really surprised the parents in the room. I can't believe it myself, she knows all the models, the number of places, very technical information on the gear, in short, she has a real passion for this job.

After her speech she had planned a few minutes of training to teach the children how to make a paper plane that flies well and high.

Here is another booth on organs that I really liked.

And another booth for a bird, a quail to be more precise.

Lilou could not help from taking the place of her sister when she left at the end of the hour, she gives it to her heart

Sofiane won the first prize, as her teacher said,"Her knowledge of the subject has amazed us all". She went home with this huge science kit and a nice diploma. Her sister came in third out of four.

It was a wonderful day, both for me and for them, I was really proud to see my children being so comfortable and committed to their work, they did a great job and presented their project very well. It was also a great experience for them to speak in front of so many people for a whole hour non-stop.
For the next day like this one in April, they are already thinking about what they will choose as their theme.
