Is this hunt for everyone?
I am sure by now you must have heard of the initiatives called Steemhunt. If you have not, then perhaps you heard of the website called product hunt. If the answer is also no, then i don't really blame you, as prior to steemhunt, i never heard of product hunt too. LOL
Anyway, steemhunt comes from the idea of product hunt but run on a steem blockchain, in short, a blockchain version of product hunt.
It allows the user to search for the coolest product out there based on 3 category (steemhunt, reviewhunt and ideahunt), the latter two is not in their website, i think they are working towards it. They reward users through upvote based on a leaderboard
You can check out their website at www.steemhunt.com , you will discover lots of cool product on one single website, similar to product hunt.
My experience on steemhunt
The initial stage, i was pretty active on steemhunt. i came out with the 2 maximum post per user per day on daily basis. Some of my posts were rewarded pretty well one of it got on the 8th place at the leaderboard.
Over time they keep on changing their voting system and created rule after rule as i believe they wanted the product on the leaderboard to be as organic as possible.
My current thoughts on steemhunt
- I find it, it was harder now to actually get a good reward for the hard work in searching for a cool product.
- I was really into it initially being a hunter looking for an awesome cool product to share with my friends, unfortunately, they have a rule not to post steemhunt post on a post promotion as it is deemed as asking for vote4vote.
- Perhaps this is not really for everyone, i realized now that this is surely not for me and in all honesty, i think i has little value for the community other than hoping to be on top of the leaderboard to get good upvotes.
- It feels like buying a lottery ticket. LOL .
- I find there are inconsistencies when it comes to moderators decision making, hence can be frustrating at times.
- in short, i am not entirely sure if steemhunt is for everyone, certainly, for now, it is not for me. i am not excited anymore about it compare to when i started, nevertheless, i truly love the idea of looking for a cool hunt, if you there kind that enjoy the search of new gadget/product than honestly, this is for you.
