What is a Witness? - And Why You Should Vote for Females Witnesses from Indonesia

As a new comer on this cool platform, some of us may be aren't really familiar yet with the word "Witnesses" and what is their roles in steemit. I myself just understand this term comprehensively after reading some reviews from great Stemians @katrina-ariel and @drakos.

I do really agree when Katrina said that
Steem doesn’t exist without witnesses as their role is to keep the blockchain alive and as the one who make decisions about the changes. That's why if you are using Steemit and investing in Steem, you are absolutely need to give your voting for witnesses​.

What Is A Witness?

Actually, the FAQ that is provided by Steemit has already explained what is the function of this term massively, however, most of us might be too lazy to read all of those instructions as the whole. You can read it in the subject of: What are Steem witnesses?

To make it short and easy​ to understand, @drakos stated that: "Witnesses are elected by the community to "witness" the production of blocks on the Steem network. In other words, they run and maintain nodes (servers) that generate the blocks containing your posts, transactions, upvotes, comments, etc., which are added to the blockchain. Without witness nodes, there is no Steem blockchain."

Then, the next question probably will be.

Who is To Vote For?

To tell the truth, actually there are a few hundred witnesses at the moment on this cutting edge social media, and each has a different level of involvement on the Steem platform. But here, I won't tell you the list of them rather than giving you a point of view why I and you from Indonesia should give your voting for this person to be a witness.

After conducting a small research right after reading an interesting post from @katrina-ariel, I just realized that this cool platform is lack of female witnesses. Most of them are male, we can say the ratio between men and women are approximately 10:3, this is not fair at all. I think woman should take a further role in here.

Moreover, as Indonesian, where a large number of Steemit users are coming from ( Again, this also based on my research findings recently), I think we have to choose someone who is basically came from this country, so most of good contents posted in Bahasa can be easily detected by the witness who understand the Bahasa itself.

So one way to overcome this condition (to support women and to help steemit users from Indonesia growing fast) is probably by choosing someone who is female and it would be great if she is coming from Indonesia.

Taking everything into account, based on this consideration, my preference witness for now goes to @thekitchenfairy. She is exactly deserved to be chosen as a witness.

From what I know during my short time blogging on Steemit, she is really active even she is a mother of two little handsome boys. You can check her account sometime to see her activity on this platform.

This is the time for us to give more space for woman to take an action and role, to make it balance between men and women, so this social media will be grown fast in a stable circumstances for the next journey.

Soon I will search and decide my 29 other witnesses. Hopefully I could find many others witnesses from Indonesia, and it would be great if I could find someone from Aceh, the place where I belong to.
