Believe me when i say steemit is changing lives on a daily basis. Infact i am a testimony to this because steemit has really helped and affected my life in a very positive way. As a student, there are somethings i can now take care of without the assistance of my parents or guardian. In otherwords, I Have been blessed by this great community.
Dont get too excited or become so curious that you let some very important things slip your mind after your account gets approved. I know you wanna start making that cash as fast as possible but that doesnt mean we should not take some crucial or important steps to safeguard our assets on the blockchain.

Things To Do Once Your Account Gets Approved

(1) Making Backups Of Your MasterKey(Your Steemit Password):

I have heared on many occasions of newly approved steemians who lose their accounts because no backups were made when they had their accounts running. Let me use myself as a case study, recently, i lost my phone to some thieves and BOOM! the first thing that came to my mind was "Ah! my steemit account" but then i again i remembered i had made backups for my account in the past.Tell me, what it if i had no backup whatsoever, i would have hated myself for that.
For peeps who made out time to read "The steemit whitepaper" you must have come across some rules which stated "never lose your password" or "never lose your masterkey". To show you how important that is, steemit had to make it the first, second and third rule all saying the same thing.

To make backups of your masterkey or password,do these;

  • Using Your E-mail Accounts:

Personally, i think this is the safest way to backup your steemit account without having any worries since you alone have access to your mail. In my case when i lost my phone, i remembered using my Gmail(google mail) account to make backups of all my keys or passwords. I saved it to my draft box in my mail and i think you newbies should do the same. Most of my passwords to important organisations are all stored in my Email an i have'nt had any problem using this method.

In summary, save your masterkey to your draft box in your E-mail.
  • Using Note Apps:

You can also make use of note creation softwares or applications available at your disposal to make backups of your password. But i dont think this is as safe as when you use your Mail because intruders could get easy access to your apps and the rest would be history. Another disadvantage of using a note application is in a situation where you lost your device, all its content would be lost except you make use of note apps with option for backup. If i am to recommend this method to anyone, i would insist you get or download a note application with backup options AND i would insist you also download an encryption application to enable you encrypt and protect the content of the note application.

  • Memorising Your Keys:

There some geniuses good at this kinda stuff(memorising) but personally, i would'nt take any chances. If you know your brain is up to the task, you can do this but if not, dont you dare...to avoid heartbreak...LOL

(2) Let Others Know Who You Are By Introducing Yourself Via A Post:

When doing this make use of these tags "introduceyourself introduction community" (without the quotes please) you can also add your country name as a tag to draw more surpport and to create awareness.

(3) Get To Know People On The Platform:

There are so many ways to go about this; from reading interesting posts of others to making good contribution through comments on their post. This way you re likely to make new friends if luck, whalish friends. 😁✌

Things/Who To Watch Out For Once Steemit Approves Your Account

  • Scammers/Hackers:

This shouldn't discourage you at all because if you follow some tips i would lay down here, then you have no worries. Even mighty social medias like facebook, twitter, linkedin, instagram etc still experience theft but on most occassions it could be the fault of the victims for giving those scammers their attention. These days on steemit i think the level of scams has reduced thanks to some very powerful accounts who have put it upon themselves to fish them out and reward them through some heavy flaggings..LOL

Flagging also known as downvoting is a way to show your displeasure to certain things on the steem block chain. The higher your steem power, the higher the weight of your flags. But that doesn't mean you should go around flagging peeps you dont agree with to avoid unecessary flag wars, lol😃

How do these scammers or hackers operate???

Most times, they would leave a comment on your post or even reply to the comments made with a link attatched, telling you they could make you richer through their upvotes or help you get more followers. Once you click on that link, you would be taken to another websites which looks exactly like steemit and they would ask for your log in details, just the way it is when you tryna loggin for the very first time on steemit. This method of hacking or scamming is known as "PHISHING" I just wanted to make you understand how it is, that doesnt mean you should click the link. Avoid any website posted by anybody that has nothing to do steemit. Alot of steemians has been affected by this tactics used by these guys, they fell prey to them and they paid dearly for it. Hundreds of thousands of steem and sbd has been lost as result of their activities.

Avoid Clicking On Unknown Links On The Steem Blockchain Which You Have No Idea About To Avoid Falling Victim To These Hungry Baboons.

Steem On Guys 😁👍
