Welcome to our Community Newsletter!

We believe in the positive impact that Steem can bring to people's lives. Even if it is a small change Steem has affected our lives by our new way of doing Social Media. In our community we have many talented and eager people who go the extra mile to help others, and create amazing works (together).

These people deserve to be put in the spotlights, that is why we have create a newsletter for our community, in which we showcase the initiatives and projects of our members and the creators themselves!

We hope that these newsletters will give a glance of all the beautiful movements that are happening within the Steem community.

Steemit is a wonderous place. It allows so many acts of charity find a wider audience to make a difference in a local community that might otherwise go unnoticed. By bringing these initiatives to light, Promo-Mentors provides a platform for these organizations to gain support. By doing so, we hope the global community on Steemit will see the value and contribute to make an even greater impact. We also hope that everyone on Steemit will see these examples and try and implement other acts of charity in more locations around the globe. Today we are highlighting one such initiative, Steem Minna, run by @inspiredgideon and the Steem Minna team.

Steem Mina defines the true meaning of wealth as "using your money to improve the lives of others". Members of the Steemmina team, including InspiredGideon travel to schools in northern Nigeria helping students with school supplies, uniforms, textbooks and badly needed sandals. In short, anything the students might need to help them attend school and be successful learners.

But they don’t stop with just raising money for badly needed school supplies. They also provide food and basic necessities to orphanages, capital to boost small business enterprises, job creation programs for unemployed youth and bill settlement and meals for hospital patients in dire need.

Steem Mina also has another objective, one that directly involves Steem - “to reach out to the students in the five higher institutions in Niger state, educating them about wealth creation, cryptocurrency and the Steem platform as a way of empowering them financially”.

Donations, and of course upvotes on their blog posts, are most welcome and will enable Steemmina to continue their good work of turning money into a way of changing and improving the lives of others. Check out their latest projects at Steem Minna or InspiredGideon

This week I’d like to introduce you to a charming, often funny, educational and family blog written by Sumatra Nate. He writes on a wide range of subjects, mixing in advice and tips for bloggers that include everything from the nitty gritty of markdown to the purpose, perspective and path of a blog.

But in between these very useful posts, he opens a window into his life as a father. Sharing his dad duty from a house full of sick kids to the pure joy of everyday family life, SumatraNate gives us an engaging look at a family full of fun. His witty and thoughtful tales turn everyday events into an adventure. For some useful advice, and a look at a charming family from a loving father’s perspective, pay a visit to SumatraNate.
