It was not just an exciting event but also a fulfilled one today having concluded the long waited for Steemit Blockchain Empowerment programme at Akwanga, Nasarawa state Nigeria.
The programme that was targeted at 40 persons became so informed that people almost over-populated the hall booked. It was not only attended by corps members of the community but also members of the public who were invited by the organizers, @rankyb inclusive.

After the set up made by @lordjames, @joyce-opkobo, @godsnana and @jingis07 at about 2pm, the event kicked off around 2:30pm when a reasonable number of people were sited and ready.
@ joyce-opkobo drove the wheel of the programme and started with prayers after which she talked about the importance of steemit to the young guys and ladies. Their minds were prepared to learn about not “get rich quick” platform but a world just like the one we are that anything is achievable. Passions are rewarded. In his words, @lordjames, first speaker emphasised that prospective steemians get rewarded not ‘paid' by their effort to the community. And as a result, they have to be up and doing.

The first speaker, @lordjames spoke about what blockchain is to mean a decentralized technological platform for storing data; steemit, a social platform built on a blockchain. Posts and rewards are controlled by no single person but by system of decentralization. Also, he stressed on the quest to be hardworking by the participants as it Is only by this that they could grow bigger and relevant in the community. However, the steemjet official recognized that some people might be lucky to hit their jack pot soon but this is not reliable. He stated what can be done to generate rewards in the community: posting which includes what you post on your wall and your comment on people’s post; curation is upvoting people’s post; buying steem and reselling is allowed too: participating in context and so on. In his final note, the mastermind cited samples of different persons who are enjoying the community doing what they can do best. It is on this note that he urged the prospectives to make use of their talent because that’s where they can do best more. For instance, he himself does not do too well in writing post and can’t neither sing nor dance, but he’s talented at leading people. His leadership skills have been rewarded on steemit (like a politician whose leadership skills have attracted mandates).

@uche-nna was the second speaker. He spoke on what one could do on steemit: different activities and communities such as singing via @dsound, dancing or any video post on @dlive and/or dtube. Even photography and some other things. He does singing and gets rewarded for it.

It was @joyce-okpobo who pontificated next, on building relationships in the community. While stating the relevance of relationship, she commented that, one needed to be known by someone who might likely know someone else that could connect one to the toppers (whales). This is so, because steem power (SP) is a measure to guarantee high SBD, SP and Steem too and is achievable when those who have high SP upvote or/and comment on one’s post. Meanwhile, you may not get to meet a whale so easily, your reputation can too grow through those who you know and by a good number visit your blog and upvote your post. She encouraged original post and urged the prospectives to be natural. She spoke about different tags on the platform and emphasised on @u-log and its importance.

@jingis07 was speaking on @utopian.i, where he specialises. He elucidated on the properties of the community: ‘Open Source Economy’ and explained how he gets rewarded for data analysis using SQL and Excel. There are other things that could be tapped such as documentation, copy writing, software developing and lots more. He pleaded with the prospectives to be hardworking for that only could be hugely rewarded, quoting him, “nobody will be rewarded for mediocrity”. Speaking on how to transfer or convert rewards to cash, the data analyst talked on the step-by-step processes involved and sampled by using his own account.

@godsnana narrated her experience and encouraged the prospectives that it might seem difficult at the beginning but will certainly be enjoyed as time goes by. I did same.
The event was rapped up with refreshments and photographs. It was a nice and successful one. I will love to do it again.
