OTHER APPS ON THE STEEM BLOCKCHAIN BESIDES STEEMIT
When you joined the steemit platform, you thought that it was all there was to it on the steem blockchain right? Well you were mostly wrong, weren't you?
You have realised now that the steem blockchain is more than steemit. Well if you have not realised that the steem blockchain is more than steemit, let me enlighten you.
There are several apps built on the steem blockchain besides steemit. These apps still offer rewards in steem and sbd when you post content on them and many of them are quite popular while some are quite new.
Several apps that could make a difference for a newbie who maybe, writing is not his or her thing include;
I. @dlive: This app allows your carry on a live stream of your activities. You can stream your own talk show, your music, your artistic process, gaming. It is especially popular with gamers and talk show hosts.
The good thing about it besides the your ability to stream live events on the steem blockchain is that the app upvotes posts made using it. That is a plus any time or day, right?
II. @dtube: If you have any experience with YouTube, then Dtube will be no biggie. It is a video content creation app that is based off the steem blockchain. You can upload videos of whatever you desire and you will get reward for it. It could be your music lp, your how-to videos, events you attended, etc.
It is a great way to share content of writing is not your thing. It also upvotes posts made using it.

III. @dsound: This app is similar to soundcloud, in the sense that it allows you to upload sound recordings, audio files unto the steem blockchain and rewards you with upvotes like other steem blockchain based applications.
It is awesome for musicians, spoken word poets, speakers and people who use audio more to express themselves. Dsound also upvotes content that is posted on it.

IV. @steepshot: This can be considered to be a steem based instagram make over. It is basically for photographers, both professionals and amateurs. It allows you share your photography works and gets rewards for it. You do not need to write much words.
There are others but these above are the most popular ones. There are also some new apps coming up on the blockchain and with the implementation of the hivemind and communities, more apps would appear on the chain.
You can see the beauty of the steem blockchain and how it caters for everyone, not just writers. So go out there, create great content and be awesome!
