Protest in Bangladesh.

in #protest6 years ago (edited)

It is not first-time millions of Bangladeshi students on street to protest and ask for justice. A few days ago, 2 school children were killed by speeding bus while they were waiting for buses. Govt. minister was informed about the incident in a press conference and he was joking with about the death and criticising about crowd and news coverage after the accident. His jokes and smiles while reacting about the death spread anger among teenagers who lost their friends. Within 24 hours, millions of children age between 13-18 came on the road to protest and asked for justice. But our Govt. was not liberal enough to take it seriously and used their authority power to beat students on road. It was a common slogan by children We want Justice and capital punishment for the intentional accident by drivers. We have seen many buses were driven by small kids and most bus drivers have no licences.

Will you believe it that children were beaten by police and the pro-government group of people ( chatro-league). It was first-time children showed unity and how they want a safer Bangladesh. Govt. supposed to appreciate their protest as they have done beautiful things that have never done before by adults.

It was clear to understand their intention but Govt. does not allow anyone to protest against them and any of their actions. The opposite political party leader in jail. No political party can protest and most of the opposite party leaders in jail and are threatened by police. The general election is coming this year December. Govt. will not allow any opposite party to win the election nor any people to vote for the opposite party. It happened five years ago when I was not able to vote but my vote was given by another person by force and police was supporting them to do these unethical work.

Same things happened 30 July while my brother was a candidate and govt. supporter won the election without votes by general people.

It was the first time Bangladesh saw such beautiful traffic lines on the street done by teenagers. They also introduced an emergency lane for emergency vehicles which was beyond my knowledge too.

Children started to check licences of police on street and we watched lots of govt. vehicles also have no licences. Even they stopped minister vehicles to check licences and compelled to apologize for not respecting traffic rules. Within 1 day, Govt. asked the police to take control of it and police joined with Pro-Govt. group ( Chatro League) to stop the protest when students were still demanding justices and 9 written points.

No electronics local media were broadcasting the real news and was restricted to mention many names which was dangerous to explain. So kids became more insecure. Many freelance bloggers, independent journalist were covering news but they also were beaten in public by govt. people.

Al-Jazeera was broadcasting an interview with Shahidul Alam, a photographer and social activist who talks to Al Jazeera about the protest movement. He later arransted by Govt of Bangladesh for his interview with international media.

Millon of children scares now as govt. said they will not take responsibility if anything happens on road during protest and police and pro-govt. groups still beating students. As the social media is the only way to get the authentic source of information. So, most youths are spending time on facebook to find the real update. Govt. does on allow any media to cover the news when children coming live on facebook to show the world. 2 children were killed during the clash last 2 days and hundreds were injured.

So, Bangladeshi youths asking for international news coverage. Govt. Also disabled internet facilities all over the country for 24 hours and closed schools, buses to stop the protest. Many social media influencers made video about the recent incident in Bangladesh and these went viral here. One of them is https://www.facebook.com/nasdaily/videos/1116405758511575/

All the picture were taken by unidentified people and collected from facebook. Many children got TC from school as teachers identified them and their involvement with the protest. Well done kids but we are sorry. Opposite political parties failed, youths failed and now teenagers.

It is sad to see the police and government hurting the people. I'm glad you told us about this. I have not seen this anywhere else. I hope you all stay safe over there!

It is a true story when anyone protests against Govt even it is peaceful. But if you are from govt. party, you are like boss. I am sure a large protest is coming in December. Also, my brother going to court to ask for election or recount votes again. It is so hard to believe someone going to win an election without votes by people. We know that court will be misguided by them but we want to try and Allah only can help us. As we are going to fight and going to court against the opposite party, we are now disclosing as an enemy for govt. supported leader and he will not tolerate our actions. I am sure more difficult things are coming for our family and mostly for my brother who was a candidate of the local election.

Sending prayers for you and your brother and everyone in your community. I hope the court decides in your favor. The people should be heard.

These type of news about injustice needed to be spread around the world to see. People need to know what most of the 3rd world countries goveenments are doing to its people. They will do all they can to remain in power to get richer while the people suffer.

Feel sad, this is a common problem in developing countries. Hope better future will happen. God Bless You !

Thank you for your wishes. I was not happy to share this story even it is true fact here.
