Some thoughts about the psychology of Alfred Adler

in #psychology5 years ago (edited)

The man - a low and a social being. Human personality is primarily determined by the interaction of two major driving forces: a community feeling and a sense of inferiority. According to Adler, each cultural age shapes its ideal according to the scale of thinking and feeling within it. There is an idea of the ideal human community that we all aspire to. On the other hand, the individual is continually possessed by the sense of inferiority, which forces him constantly to seek unreachable ideal perfection.

The sense of inferiority, the quest for overcoming, together with the feeling of being, are the cornerstones of Adler's theory of man. Feeling for a community. The integrity of the individual can not be separated from the community. From the mother, the first lover at the beginning of the development of the sense of community, the first impulses for the child, which will be built as part of a whole, we will first seek contacts with the outside world. The unpredictable evolution of the sense of community gives us the right to assume that the existence of mankind is inseparably linked to being "good". School is a very important factor. The lack of sense of community should be perceived as a complex of inferiority. Adler points out that the earth's surface, on which we live, forces mankind to process it, to make a distribution of labor. Thus, the sense of community is expressed as a joint work for the benefit of others. The direction in the development of both the individual and the community is predetermined by the degree of community feeling. 2. Situations that impede the feeling of community.

There are three major issues that make it more difficult to develop a sense of community: pampering, innate organ failure and neglect. To overcome them, the role of the family - mother and father - is very important. They must participate in the child's life and help him / her. It must feel connected with the world. 3. Feelings of inferiority. "In order to be a person, you have to feel a sense of inferiority that constantly requires overcoming." The sense of inferiority is related to positive suffering, which lasts as long as it takes to resolve any task, obligation or tension. It is inherent in us like a painful tension that requires its unloading. For example, in the case of crippled persons, the biological deficiency of the organ appears to be the basis for creating a sense of inferiority and overcoming it through overcompensatory activity.
