There's Something About the Weather That's Depressing
We had extremely hot summer, and lately, it's raining every afternoon or early evening. Rainy season was finally declared by PAGASA so frequent rains are expected. Rainy season is also typhoon season, and at the moment, a tropical depression is currently hitting the country.
It's been cloudy and rainy, and there's something about the weather that's depressing. It might be Seasonal Affective Disorder which was caused by transition of climate from summer to rainy. It is more often in extreme northern hemisphere during fall to winter season and it may persist for months.
Rainy weather also affects my mood. There's that feeling of sadness, that you prefer to sleep. Lack of exposure to sunshine causes serotonin levels to decline. So whenever there is sunshine, grab the opportunity to warm yourself. Vitamin D would also be helpful to increase serotonin levels.
Rainy days loved by many while it causes other people to be depressed. If you were overwhelmed by depression, it would be better to talk to someone or seek help from professionals.

We have missed summer here in the mountains. However, the rain is longer now. It is indeed depressing since the cold is also adding to the gloominess of the weather. I Even so, I love the sound it makes on the rooftops that it makes me sleepy and makes sleeping better.
