Poseidon is the second Greek god that we will study from the point of view of the psychology of the character, and later we will see how men are with the personality of this archetype. First we focus on the characteristics of the god through a look at their myths, and then we will look at the way of being of Poseidon men.

He was the eldest son of the men of Kronos and Rhea, therefore, at birth was swallowed by his father, and remained inside the titan until his brother Zeus rescued him. Once free he was granted the kingdom of the seas, which dominated and reigned at will, wielding his powerful and famous trident.

Poseidon is recognized as an angry god with a difficult temperament. If something bothered him his anger was reckless and obvious. The whole odyssey and the work that Ulysses went through to return to Ithaca was mainly due to the wrath of Poseidon. First Ulysses did not offer to the god after the victory in Troy. Poseidon in response punished him by making him lose himself in the sea. Then Ulysses blinded Polyphemus (son of Poseidon) and the god's anger worsened.

He had many children and his official consort was Anfitrite. He was unfaithful on several occasions, although not as much as his brother Zeus did.

2. They have a psychological world of great depth and great beauty. You could say that in their interior they keep all the wealth and treasures that one can find equally at the bottom of the sea.

3. Frequently they seek to express themselves through artistic trades such as writers, musicians, dancers, etc. the emotional richness makes them men with great creative potential.

4. Poseidon men are the passion devoid of reason and therefore the animals that represent it are the horse and the bull. Their impulses are violent and sexually they are usually stallions. By desire they are released without taking into account what their partners feel.

5. They are intuitive beings with a huge imagination. They love everything that helps them give free rein to their imagination, to the point of becoming addicted to it.

1. Poseidon men are easily irascible. They are tremendously unpredictable. We can affirm allegorically that its waters are easily shaken. When they get angry, they are not like Zeus who rains his thunderbolt in the distance, on the contrary, with his fury a tsunami can rise that reaches all the people around him.

2. If the need for revenge dominates the Poseidon man, or a total fury blinds him, he may do so much damage or be so destructive that he can not even realize the damage he does or its consequences.

3. Sexually he is very passionate, but he cares more for him, than for his partner. As everything must always be done in its own way, even sex can become so imposed that it becomes violent.

The main recommendation is that you must learn to control your angry temper. Must learn from mistakes and be temperate and moderate at times that require it.
