Psychology: Your Pain Drives Your Decisions?

in #psychology5 years ago

Hmm!

This life is simple. Virtually every problem we face is temporary. Search through all your problems, 99.99% are temporal but cause immediate pain and this makes us often let this pain drive our choices and actions.

Read this with understanding;

  • You are suffering from the pain of feeling lonely, unloved, unappreciated or misunderstood. This might cause you to resolve your pain by cheating on your spouse.

  • You are part of a project suffering from the pain of not feeling important enough or let me say powerful enough you might take up a terrible job with a fancy title just because of the pain.

Do you let your pains drive your actions?

When you begin to let the negative mind you carry or the problem you are facing drive your decisions it will lead to a choice you wouldn't normally make. This act results in a sudden action that will resolve the pain just once. You are looking for choices to resolve the pain, annoyance that you're feeling that very hour.

But, I have a way out for you...

Making better long-term choices while resolving short-term pain can save you from this pitfall. Let's see how this work.

Do you remember My Psychology In Negativity post? Check it again and learn something similar.

There is an approach I want to share with you here, this work like magic;

Approach Make Your Values Drive Your Choices.... Can you do this?

See, there are many aspects that can influence your decision-making process but I see the above caption as one of the best processes that capture my spirit, soul, and body. Your core value is important when taking a decision.

Is money your priority when making a decision? No wonder when you come across a project your question is always will this make money? Why can't you ask this important question ( does this align with my core values)? Follow by the money question.

Until you understand your core values whatsoever project brought to your table you pick it up. Again if the two questions have no answer rather than No look for another option that satisfy the two questions, meaning such project is no go area, it will bring down your value.

Friends, you are more likely to live a good life that you will be proud of rather than one you regret if you align your life and work with your core values. The Idea Behind Core Values.

I came to the understanding of this: Some type of constraint is due to the power of a constraint you believe in every decision. You think of this;

You think of how much knowledge you have.

You think of how many resources you have.

You think of how much money you have.

Why not what value you have thought in your mind? Guy! You are missing something tangible.

When you choose better constraints, you will definitely make better choices. Limiting those options to the one that fit your values will make your behavior match your beliefs and those better constraints will boost up your creativity.

When you know your principle, selecting your method comes with ease by samest

Have you taken a moment to think about your value for once? Oh! You thought about it, go forward to write them down and clarify them. You may see them as too simple or may be unnecessary, but when you focus on them with a clear picture align them with your work and life and see the wonder.

I will hammer you with this statement: if you are the type that never sits down to think about his or her value, you are more likely to make decisions based on whatsoever information is in front on you. I call this kind of people Mr. No Direction. See, if you continue your life that way, it's a recipe for regret down the road.

I know that looking at this complex Life, there are moments in our professional or personal lives that require us to make a choice without as much information as we need. I will say, by default assumption, everyone thinks of more knowledge of research in these situations but what we just need is a clear understanding of our values and the problem is solved.

He that always gives way to others will end in having no principles Aesop

Do you know what you stand for?

Do you know where you're headed?

If you don't, it's far too easy to get off course or to make an exception that leads you down a dangerous path. I will say this, as I close to shock your mind, there are great business guys with decent heart in jail presently spending many years just because they made business decisions that were based on the pain they felt and not because of the values they believed in at the beginning. Will your own be the same?

Allow Your Values Not Your Pains Drives Your Decisions.
