Python is an easy-to-learn programmer, powerful programming language. It has efficient high-level data structures and a simple but effective approach to object-oriented programming.

Python's elegant syntax and dynamic typing, along with its interpreted nature, make it an ideal language for scripting and rapid development of applications in many areas on most platforms.

Python, a programming language so called not by the name of a snake, but by a sketch of a 1970s British television comedy.

A programmer can be significantly more productive in Python than in Java.

How much more productive? The most accepted estimate is 5-10 times.

Managers who are considering adding to Python's list of approved development tools for their organization, however, can not afford to accept such reports uncritically. Evidence is needed, and some understanding of why programmers are making such claims.

From a high level view, Java is a static type, which means that all variable names must be declared explicitly. On the contrary, Python is written dynamically, which means that the declaration is not required. There is a great debate between dynamic types and static types in programming languages. However, a point must be agreed upon - Python is a language interpreted with an elegant syntax and that makes it a very good option for scripting and rapid development of applications in many areas.
