More than 1,600 migrant children have been moved to a "tent city"
The New York Times tweeted "Hundreds of migrant children are being woken in the middle of the night and taken to unregulated tent camps where there is no schooling and only limited access to legal aid."
I looked around and there were a lot more tweets about this yet no real news coverage. Its bad enough its happening and worse its not having a bright light shined upon it.
This is disturbing to say the least. Children not only cannot take care of them selfs but also do not understand much about the world or what is going on. This is very confusing at minimum not to mention probably quite miserable....
Whats worse than the horrible living conditions and miserable life is that they will only get worse....Imagine what someone who grows up in such conditions will be like as an "adult"?
If they aren't a drug addict or homeless they will probably kill them selfs or be a criminal.
The number one thing children need is love and care, this is even more important than education. Without love and care they will grow up to be dangerous to them selfs if not others as well.
The reason why the world is so fucked up is because children are being mistreated.
I believe that our biggest responsibility as adults is to provide better lives for children. If we really want to make the world a better place it has to start with more love and care for children, of course our own if we have them but all children as a whole.
I have taken in so many single mothers and or parents who could not provide healthy and happy lives for their children and helped the parents learn to have a healthy happy and functional life as a family. This is the greatest gift/service I have done for humanity, far more than the hundreds of thousands of free meals I have fed.
I have also made sure that my own children have not had to spend a single day in day care or even with a baby sitter. I also take responsibility for their education rather than leaving it to people who are only with them because they are being paid, and teaching them as though they were the same as millions of other children.
If anything good can come of such a tragedy as this story it is to hopefully inspire people to take more care with the children of this world.

I feel like we should flood NY and step in to show how these children could really be cared for. So very very sad. Where were these migrant children when they were rounded up? This is extremely disturbing!!

There are some great organizations on the ground there fighting for the children’s rights, appearing with them in court, and looking for their parents. I don’t have the links on this phone but will look for them when I’m back on my laptop.
It is a crime that this is considered yesterday’s news by the msm, so not worth covering anymore. Evil counts on that.

Sadly your right that there is so much horrible happening that its on the news then off the news and most people just forget. The system does count on that and it keeps perpetuating.

Thanks for sharing....Though how do the children even get this legal aid and how does it help the thousands of children?
A number of organizations have paid lawyers and volunteer lawyers who show up at the children's court dates. Each child winds up appearing in immigration court to have to defend the fact that they are an asylum seeker fleeing persecution, not just immigrating. Even babies! They are given no lawyers and expected to make their cases for themselves. So the volunteer lawyers are their only hope.
