I agree. I haven't read a lot of his books, and it surprised me when I dug these quotes up from an interview, and in a lot of ways he does the way I do, and when he talks about outlines, " in an outline everything works. But when you actually execute it on the page, you look at the outline, look at the page, and think, “Well, it sounded good in the outline, but it’s not really working.” That what happens to me, because I don't know my characters well enough and it takes a whole book to get to know the character.
