How does Qurator's exclusive only bot, @Qustodian work?

in #qurator6 years ago (edited)

One thing I've noticed after going through @qurator's discord channel these past few days was how some qurites are still not aware about the existence of the most profitable bot ever made on the steem platform and one that can only be used if you are a member of the @qurator community, and that is the @qustodian bot.

What is @qustodian?

To reiterate, Qustodian is qurator's partner and an exclusive bot that only qurites can use. It was built with qurites and investors in mind. It is your typical upvote bot with a little cool twist. You send in some SBD and get a return of approximately 2.65 times more than the amount of SBD you sent.

Sounds great right? But one thing I've noticed from going through the #qurator-assistant channel on Qurator's discord server, is that many people seems to not care about the Qustodian account info details (See the pic below). Mainly, because they do not know what is @qustodian and how to use it.

So How does the @qustodian bot works?

All you need to do is to send some SBD to the @qustodian account along with a link to a post you want the bot to vote into. After a few minutes, @qustodian will then upvote the said link with 2.65 times worth the SBD you sent. Simple as that!

Take the above image as an example, We see above one's qurator account details along with his corresponding qustodian votebank balance of 0.965. If that person sends in exactly 0.965 SBD to @qustodian along with the link as a memo, then after a few minutes @qustodian will vote that one up with approximately $2.56 upvote worth. Cool right?

What is Votebank Balance and why can't I just freely send any SBD I want?

Now, imagine a scenario wherein all qurites will send in 1SBD to get a $2.65 upvote worth from @qustodian. With over a thousand members at the moment, that will immediately deplete @qustodian's voting power. Since @qustodian isn't that strong yet with respect to it's Steem Power, there is a dire need to regulate how much SBD people can send. There comes in the Votebank Balance.

The Votebank Balance is the maximum amount of SBD you can send to @qustodian at that day. Everyday at exactly 00:00UTC, @qustodian will check it's Voting Power and will calculate how much Votebank balance should be added to each member. (Note: All members gets the same amount added to their votebank balance assuming that they haven't reached the maximum 100% Voting Weight of @qustodian).

Normally, if @qustodian's Voting Power is less than 75%, then all members gets 0.050 added to their votebank balance and if @qustodian's VP is greater than 75% then expect a greater amount of votebank balance to be added into your account.

Seems like too much of a bother to regularly check my Votebank Balance and send to @qustodian, is there a way to automate this?

Well thanks to you lazy qurites, @boontjie made a cool feature to make you even lazier. Starting this week, you can send in some SBD to @qustodian with a memo 'credit' on it. And from there, @qustodian will then do all the work for you. That is upvoting your latest post with regards to your votebank balance at that day.

Example (Because my English maybe confusing to some people XD) :

You send in 1SBD to @qustodian with a memo 'credit' on it.

From then on, @qustodian will check your votebank balance at that day. If you have a votebank balance of 0.4. @qustodian will deduct 0.4 from your qustodian credit(You send in 1SBD, so you have 1SBD as credit in this example) and will upvote your latest post with 2.65 times the value of the deducted amount.

From here onwards, since everything is automated. @qustodian will upvote after @qurator votes. Meaning that as long as you have sufficient balance in your qustodian credit, your post gets voted by both @qurator and @qustodian.

How to check Votebank balance and credit?

Head over to the Qurator's Discord Server and go to #qurator-assistant channel. Just type: !profile yourusername (Ex:!profile jlordc ).

If you don't have a Discord account, you can check it from the link below:

https://heroku-qurator.herokuapp.com/votes/jlordc/

Just replace jlordc with your username.

Remember that @qustodian is a @qurator exclusive bot. So if you are not a member, register first and don't send in any amount yet.

Thank you for that :) This is very well explain how it works. Since not all Qurites are on our Discord server they might not be aware of the bot and the new Credit feature (which I also use myself).
Well done!

(pity I didn't see it earlier, seems I can't resteem it anymore)

Thanks and no problem!
More power to @qurator :)

I have been enjoying being a part of the qurator group, being able to get some consistent upvotes on every posts is so much worth compared to having to hope for the occasional whale vote. I have have been making use of the qustodian bot but still have to look intot the votebank credit.

Good info !

Me too. Thank God for their steem subscription this month, I was able to get into Tier 5 immediately.
