Each photo here is champion stock Lady Joan.
Monkeys have long been misplaced here and only in the mountains do we see the bigger apes.
A lovely post indeed!
Blessings!

Thanks for kind comment Stephen, we are fortunate not to have baboons in our region, whose size and aggression is daunting. Hopefully one day I will get to photograph our mongoose family that come into the garden, bit difficult with Woody around.

That is so cool that the monkeys come to visit you. I wouldn't chase them off either. I'd make friends and just hang out with them. lol. Your dog is a total cutie too! I love doggies.

None of my dogs have chased them nor been aggressive, male monkeys tend to bare their teeth and warn you not to approach. Unfortunately some people do set their dogs onto the monkeys which is unfortunate since most animals normally coexist happily together.

I love your friends, garden flowers and other living things ... I've made an idea of how it's around you ...

Everything except a road that used to be quiet it is a tranquil place to live looking out over the sugarcane fields down to the river and sea. Sadly development is eating into everything, people overpopulating areas, still cannot blame the animals.

Of course, unfortunately, changes are becoming more obvious and unpleasant.

We are "shooting ourselves in the foot", along with everything else in existence!

Thank you for teaching me an expression. That's how it is...

Awesome photos Joan! I love Woody's relaxing pose!

Woody is a demonstrative dog, demanding a lot of affection, he is quite a character, now very much at home!

That monkey looks like he could get into more trouble than all the cats and squirrels we get around here. That is definitely a face of a trouble maker right there!

It is always nice to stop and enjoy the little things on busy days. I had a bit of a lazy dog day myself being outdoors.

Full on mischief at least twice a day moving through the gardens @enjar, wild cats cruise through at night no real problem with them having a dog in the house.

No squirrels where we live, learned via comments made by @traciyork that they too come and 'play' with human toys.

They are so cute and yes Mischievious, I don't think I could chase them away either

Love the pattern on that butterfly ;)

Once they find berries and flowers in the garden they visit regularly, not using insecticides for close on to 20 years much more thrives in our small garden.

I wish more people were like you and didn’t use insecticides I do worry about the effect there having in my planet
My dad was very much the same always would only ever use natural things in the garden

You definitely learn from the older folks, I was told to use a saucer of beer in my veg garden for slugs, it worked!

That you mention that I remember MY dad doing the same with a saucer of beer in key spots in his garden he had a big garden area

Nice, serene, lovely post my darling. Have a wonderful new week, looking forward for your photos and thoughts. 😊

Glad you enjoyed the day, our new week starts slowly with a public holiday, school holidays with village full of visitors enjoying the warmer climate from inland.

The monkey seems so tame, ours here are a bit wild and like to snatch things...

Monkeys will allow you to get relatively close, we don't feed them, try avoid putting out bird food when they moving through the garden, since monkeys eat everything.
