1 Minute reading tips!
Making a reading investment in the books your child reads.
What does this mean? If you read books your child may have an interest in from a wide range of authors and genres you can more credibly provide them with suggestions.
Do you have to? No, but you can really change your child’s reading slum and ignite your child’s passion for reading by investing the time in reading. You might actually like some of the books. Many times authors appeal to a particular age group because they research the age and align their topic, themes, problems with those your child might be going through.
Anything else? Discuss, discuss, discuss….Did I mention discuss? When you have conversations around, about and beyond books you will help your child increase their critical thinking skills and the ability to transfer new information from their short to long term memory.
