Something good for a change !
As a native dutch , born and raised and living in the Netherlands i am honoured to have a art piece , that i made some time ago , https://steemit.com/art/@small1axe/gimp-mouse-art
plastered on the backside of a private owned public transport bus .
Very nice when a friend takes my creation and uses it to make the world a little nicer .
Honoured because this bus line goes from baltaköy to Aydin in Turkey .
This is how we create bridges and trust , with respect towards all our cultures and roots .
Do not hate but respect what you do not know , just ask if things confuse you .
Believe in the goodness of the stranger , glad to know some people still do so . 😊
Peace to all .
Your post made me smile @small1axe ... yes, I agree with your sentiment about 'friends' helping friends through acts such as getting your work of art onto a motor coach somewhere.
Having dabbled in the arts as well, I have been occasionally made to feel a little special when someone seems to 'truly' feel connected to a piece I may have painted or drawn; especially a 'stranger' from another Land who is actually a 'collector' stumbling upon your work and PAYING you for it...to add to their cherished collection...
I always end up giving away my art to someone who really likes it and somehow deserves it .
This nice landscape i gave to a proud Atatürk that works at the same company , as i to did for the last 8 years . The on canvas printed one i had made is hanging on a wall in his house . His house is about 3 miles behind the mill , the company would be the first turn left after the bridge . This from Turkey originated friend bought a public bus line , not for profit , just to provide that service and create a job . It's an investment to insure he doesn't have to walk when he's retired ;-) . The man truly offered me a job as a shepherd in the Ayden mountains ones ,... still a standing offer . This friend isn't rich or wealthy , just a smart low income class guy who knew that in Turkey this low part is very very high . I call him Sultan or Don' for how he shares and cares in a good way .
Most of the local community in Turkey reacted friendly positive and smiling over this , i hope many more smiles may be generated by this picture .
Congratulations @small1axe! You received a personal award!
