The Pilgrim's Progress: Journey to Heaven – Movie Review
This is a very interesting and special Christian movie acted basing on the Story written by John Bunyans in 1979 that is about 300 years ago. It’s a must-watch for every church teens, young adults, and the older ones. John Banyans who authored the story was a man who was harassed and imprisoned for his faith in Christ. The author uses word-pictures and ‘similitudes’ to landmark key aspects of the life course of a humble soldier of the King.

The ordinary city worker with a wife and two children struggles with slavery to the endless struggle to merely exist. Then one day he comes upon artworks by a missing man who has clearly been dreaming of a better life far beyond the city borders. Christian steals the man’s book so he too can learn about the ‘mad’ hope of a great King of love and His ‘streets paved with gold’ in the Celestial City. Like many of us, he hungrily reads about the King’s explanation of life and the judgment to come. Christian is so struck and burdened by the sin all around him, that he leaves his wife and children, to travel alone towards the King he has met in the pages of the book.

In my thoughts
The movie showcases a Christian pilgrim’s journey from a city of destruction to the Celestrial city. It begins off by showcasing him carrying lots of burdens on his shoulders implying that many Christians in this life tend to have burdens such as worries, poverty, fear, etc which require surrendering them to the almighty God.
The actor/pilgrim finally surrenders his burdens to the lord when he looks upon the Cross (encounters Jesus Christ) or believes in the victory that Jesus Christ secured for him at the Cross of Calvary.
Every believer encounters a great lot of challenges, disruptions, and perils at every turn of his life but eventually emerges a victorious person through the various guides he gets along the way. It should be noted in the journey of Salvation we encounter various kind of people where some are “destiny helpers and others destiny destroyers.” The Destiny helpers are the ones that helped this pilgrim/actor with the right directions and Counsel towards that great and purposed destination (Celestrial city) he was looking for.
