I❤️R Side A / 3: Don Carlos - Mr Sun
Do you still remember the mixtapes, the tapes we always recorded in the 70s and 80s. We always wore the headphones of the Sonny TPS-L2 Walkman and a little later we carried many kilos of the Boom Box JVC M-90 through the cities. Sorted and forgotten, the magnetic tapes are now stored in cartons and shoe boxes.
I would like to rediscover the songs and start a series of my mixtapes I❤️R(eggae) here.
Don Carlos grew up in Kingston's Waterhouse Ghetto and began as a reggae musician in 1973 when he was a member of the original formation of Black Uhuru. As a solo artist he was very successful from the 80's and released 17 longplayers and numerous singles. Over 40 years Don Carlos, who celebrated his 67th birthday on 29 June 2019, stands on the stages of this world.
