A relationship is more than you. As much as you have a part to play, you should always seek consultation with your partner and focus on making your partner happy. Imagine if both partners are contented to making each other happy, how easy the decisions they would make would be, how excited they would feel, and how easy it would be for them to resolve conflicts and strike a balance.
Selfishness and greed sometimes stand in the way and this kills a relationship faster than water to fire.
A lot of people need to know that marriage is not an extension of your family. You need to be able to make decisions for your life and family without any family influence whatsoever. It is wrong to be pushed every time. How do you think that relationship would fare if your boyfriend or husband also sought the opinion of his mother on issues you and him are supposed to make? So why would you choose to listen to your father as regards what to do with a man you claim to be in love with?
I recently learned of a lady who left a guy because she doesn’t feel the man was bold enough. She said the man was easily pushed aside. He agreed to almost anything and everything. He was gullible, and according to her, he isn’t “strong” enough. The lady is from a wealthy home.
