As I said earlier, relationship is like leverage; whatever amplifies your effort. You hold a microphone and all you do is speak and it takes your voice farther. You are leveraging on that microphone without having to shout. There are some people that are just like catalyst to you; they push you farther than you can reach on your own, but when you fail to treat them the way they should, you can’t reap the benefits they carry.
We have people that are just like casual friends. We meet them and they provide temporary comfort and that is where their relevance ends. We have those who connect us to another person. Have you ever experienced a friend linking you to another friend but you are now closer to the new friend than the old? There are some relationships that are just to connect you to another; they serve as a link. As I said earlier, some are like catalysts; they spur you on, trigger you and make the most out of you. They won’t rest until you are comfortable and happy.
Many people hold on to dead relationships; those that adds nothing to their lives. Value is the currency of relationship. Never take any for granted before it is too late and we all need wisdom to recognize the difference between the ones that need to give way and the ones that need to be watered.
Don’t trivialize that relationship because it might be gone before you know it. Most people will naturally go to where they are celebrated rather than where they are tolerated. We often do this with our parents. We have gotten so used to them we feel they will always be around. They call us and we think they are disturbing too much.
