Importance of Relationships
I have written quite a lot on the importance of being surrounded by credible relationships and I don’t want to sound like I am already repeating the things that have been said. Now, I will take it to the biblical aspect of having the right kind of relationship around us.
When you have the right kind of relationship around, there is no limit to the things you can achieve. Those relationships can be your eyes and legs even when you need support the most. We need to invest in valuable relationships and not the ones that make us worse off.
Luke 5:17-19 (NIV)
17 One day Jesus was teaching, and Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee and from Judea and Jerusalem. And the power of the Lord was with Jesus to heal the sick. 18 Some men came carrying a paralyzed man on a mat and tried to take him into the house to lay him before Jesus. 19 When they could not find a way to do this because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on his mat through the tiles into the middle of the crowd, right in front of Jesus.

The story of the man with paralysis comes to mind. Jesus was busy teaching in a house and the friends of this paralyzed man couldn’t gain access through the door and they did the impossible. They passed their friend through the roof. They removed the house roofing; caring less about offending the owner of the house and then lowered their friend down to where Jesus was standing. Jesus saw their faith and then healed their friend.
The faith of the friends and their efforts worked in favour of the friend. Indeed, the Bible said ”The prayer of faith will heal the sick and if they have committed any sin, it would be forgiven”. There is no limit to the things you can achieve and even receive when you surround yourself with those who are willing to go the extra miles for you.
