The story tells that the citizens, in view of the grave situation of the sick and of the despair caused by this dangerous disease, decided to take the Nazarene in procession to beg for the healing of the sick who suffered from this plague and the culmination of it. , to their greatest surprise when they take the Nazarene around the corner of Miracierlos, the cross of it is entangled among the branches of a lemon tree causing several fruits to fall from the tree, the believers interpreted this act as a sign of the omnipotent God and took the lemons to make a healing drink, which worked, healing the sick immediately.

Since then, Holy Wednesdays of each year is commemorated in the Basilica of Santa Teresa in Caracas and in all the churches of Venezuela the miraculous procession of the Nazarene of San Pablo where thousands of parishioners and believers of the faith, is performed a mass in his honor and then walk to the Nazarene around the churches, streets of cities and towns, with costumes alluding to his image and likeness in gratitude for having healed them of some disease, and accompany him during the procession until returning again to the church.
