Yes, oftentimes people living destructive lives often remain in misery; because, someone is praying, somewhere in the world for them; that God brings them to their knees, breaking them from the bondage in which they live, into a surrendered life.

No matter how hard they try to have joy in sin, it always fails. The blessed are fortunate to repent and turn away. Others, unfortunately, die in unrepentant living.

But, as noted in your post THANKFULLY, there is an ADVOCATE WHO INTERCEDES ON BEHALF OF ALL who love Him...thus, the reason for our HOPE.
