RE: The Gospel of JOHN

in #reliquary6 years ago

verse 5> Stooping down and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings [neatly] lying there; but he did not go in.

verse 6> Then Simon Peter came up, following him, and went into the tomb and saw the linen wrappings [neatly] lying there

verse 11> But Mary [who had returned] was standing outside the tomb sobbing; and so, as she wept, she stooped down and looked into the tomb;

verse 12> and she saw two angels in white sitting there, one at the head and one at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain.

In verse 5 the first disciple out ran Peter but yet even when the stoop low they only saw linen neatly wrapped and worst still they never went in even when the out ran Peter.

some of us outran our colleagues in this christain race but till now has not gone into Jesus they are still outside and when you are outside you can't see anything.

Now verse6 tells us that Simeon Peter went inside,but even when he went inside he never saw anything but still saw the same linen that the 1st disciples saw.
We sometime go into Jesus but we don't look well to see or encounter Jesus. We are impatient.

In verses 11 and 12 we saw an example of a devout and consistent Christian after crying ,she never allowed her emotions to overwhelm her she cleaned her eyes stoop low and she saw the angles, Peter and the rest never saw anything but Mary Magdalene saw something. Perhaps they went there to fulfill all righteouness. Mary did not only see the angels but also saw Jesus.

May God help us
