“Lost and Found” “失而复得”

It is common to find a corner at a conference specifically meant for the “Lost and Found”. When there are many participants, it is normal to misplace or lose personal items. The corner designated for lost items is indeed able to help some people to get back their lost items.

Recently, my wife and me came back from a trip and she lost a pair of shoes. She thought that she had left them in the hotel room. After calling the hotel, we came to know that there was no left over item in the room. However, this evening she excitedly told me that she has got back her shoes, which were surprisingly being found inside a room in our house. Most likely, when we unpacked our luggage, we just put the shoes there inadvertently. Nevertheless, we are excited that we have got back the lost shoes.

There are many things in life we have inadvertently lost them. We have lost inexpensive items which are negligible. But perhaps it is disappointed that some of us have lost precious things such as “time”, “relationship” etc due to wrong priorities.

As it doesn’t always happen that we can recover what is lost, we need to be more cautious in deciding our priorities. More importantly, when we attempt to have a better life, we need to ensure that we can live authentically and meaningfully. If we have lost such authenticity and meaning, it is urgently necessary for the authenticity and meaning to be restored into our life.

在某些大会中设有”失物待领”的角落。当一个大会有衆多出席者，误置或丢失个人物品是相当平常的事情。失物角落的确可以帮助一些人找回丢失的物品。

最近，我和妻子由外地回来，她發现丢了一双鞋；她以为鞋子还留在酒店房间，经过与酒店联络后，我们才知道房间里没有遗留物品。然而，今天晚上她兴奋地告诉我，她已经得回了她的鞋子，这双鞋子出人意料地被发现放在我们家的一个房间里。最有可能的是当我们打开行李箱时，我们不经意的将鞋子放在那里。尽管如此，我们很高兴能够找回丢失的鞋子。

我们在生活中会无意中失去了一些东西，有些丢失了可以忽略不计因为是廉价商品。也许有一些失落的东西，在回顾时会令我们後悔，並由于错误的优先选择，有一些人已经失去了诸如“时间”、”关系”等宝贵的东西。

由于我们不一定可以恢复失落的东西，因此我们需要在决定优先事项时更加谨慎。更重要的是，当我们期望要拥有更好的生活时，我们需要确保能够拥有真实和有意义的人生。如果我们失去了”真实”和”意义”，那么我们有必要在生活中重新獲得它们。
