These are the 10 best countries to retire (and 6 of them are Latin American)
Six of the 10 best countries to retire in 2019 are Latin American.
This is stated by the Annual Global Retirement Index, a study by International Living that analyzes the destinations to retire after working life, considering factors such as the ease of obtaining residency, the health system, the climate and the cost of living, among others.
The list is led by Panama and followed, in order, by Costa Rica, Mexico, Ecuador, Malaysia, Colombia, Portugal, Peru, Thailand and Spain.
The analysis has a bias for so-called "expatriates", because it considers the advantages that a certain place can offer for people from developed countries who have the purchasing power to pay a good standard of living and seek the best destination to retire quietly.
It is not about the countries where the local population retires under better conditions.
