Steem Riddle of the Week #12: No Straight Edge

This weeks riddle
In basic geometry we all learn how to bisect a line segment using a compass and a straight edge. This weeks riddle is as follows: how can you bisect a line segment with no straight edge (only a compass). Note that without a straight edge you cannot draw a straight line between two points.
Your solution must involve a finite number of steps. The correct solution does not involve estimating, approximating, or repeatedly drawing circles until they line up perfectly.

Good idea, but adjusting the compass through trial and error until you get something that appears tangent to the naked eye, is not sufficient, there is a precise solution that will get you an exact bisection in a fixed number of steps. I'll edit the post to be more clear.
