I believe in Ripple
A friend of mine keeps telling me that XRP is a shitcoin because it's not descentralized; that I should not support anything that is bank-related and that I should sell all my XRP tokens ASAP.
Many others tell me it's value will drop to zero in the years to come because the creators of Ripple can manipulate the token's price at will.
But I for one, after watching and reading all the news about XRP, it's ground breaking technologies (xRapid, Xpring) and the continued support from well-established companies all over the world, can proudly say: I believe in Ripple!

Not only because I HODL XRP tokens; Ripple has established itself as one of the few cryptocurrency projects with a true, real world usage. It has also been the only cryptocurrency to be able to compete (market share-wise) with one of the biggest contenders: Ethereum, to the point in which it has surpassed it on a few occassions.
I do believe it's only a matter of time before anyone, not only big-name finance institutions, can use XRP on their financial tasks.
For all you Ripple believers out there: keep believing! This is only the beginning of a great project, HODL!
I think it will be a good token as well. It's one of the few current tokens with a real world application and will be taken up by companies and banks.

Interesting topic.
I absolutelly DO NOT agree with your friend. Financially your friend is completly wrong and he represent group of "blockchain maniacs" who simply do not understand that decentralization is not the reason why there is such a demand for most cryptos.
Almost no investor I know cares about decentralization. And "smart money" will surely not care about it at all.
It's very simple. If Ripple developers can create utility and demand for this coin, then price will be stable or even go up.
In my humble opinion big-name finance institutions are completly not interested with current cryptos and ICOs.
Smart money are mainly interested in market which is regulated. And with crypto's that would be backed by real assets. In my opinion STO (Security Token Offerings) are the future. ICO golden days are absolutely over.
That's just my opinion.

I think your right. I think that a lot of the current cryptos won't survive five years because there is no product behind them and a lack of stability. The best coins are functional and have something to offer investors to ensure that they are held. Ripple should be one of those.
