Road to Steemfest - More Uncovering To Do
My favourite Mexican @anomadsoul had this great idea that people who are going to attend steemfest 3 should do freewriting so we could get to know each other more.
Funny thing, me and @anomadsoul are now friends, and we were both on Steemfest 2, even sat at the same dinnertable but we never talked! I can’t wait for us to finally meet for real, which might actually be even before the Steemfest 3 because he is already in Europe.
I’m kinda glad Steemfest is in Poland and kinda hate that it’s in there. It’s dirt cheap compared to Finland, but when I travel away from Finland in dreary winter months, I would prefer to go somewhere that is less depressing weather wise. But I’m sure the atmosphere will more than make up for the fact that is cold and wet and dark in Krakow. Okay the real reason I hate that Steemfest is in a cold climate is that instead of just being half naked, I have to conjure up an interesting personality to make friends, hmph...
This time I’m a lot more excited about the whole Steemfest because I’m no longer a newbie who doesn’t know anyone. I actually hated steemfest first because I’m super shy and my ”friend” bailed on me the day before the trip so I had to go alone and I was not at all prepared for that. Yeah sure you learn a lot and getting out of your comfort zone is where life happens blablabla. Guess what I learned? I’M STILL SHY AND FUCKING HATE GOING OUT MY COMFORT ZONE. Let alone to a fucking event during daylight and having to network. Yes I made friends and had a lot of fun, but there was also a lot of time when I was just the little grey mouse that wanted to hide somewhere when I didn’t have anyone I know close to me.
One of those times when I was hiding in a corner, sitting alone browsing my phone, a dear wizard @gtg came and chatted me up. Bless him! Not long after that @pollux.one asked if he could take a photo of me with @bellastella, and them I joined their table group. He also got me a G&T, a sure way to get to this girls heart!
This year I’m bringing along with me a fellow G&T lover @escapist! So excited and glad she got into steemit and wants to go to steemfest too. Though you guys should probably be a little scared, we are quite the duo and we are usually up to no good. We’ll soon need to look up flights and a cool Airbnb for us for the week we’ll be staying in krakow. @jeffjagoe, should we be neighbours again?
I know I will enjoy Steemfest a lot more this year because I know a lot more people, and a lot more know me, so I feel more comfortable and more like myself going in there. Can’t wait, 3 months will go by so fast!

It's funny - I hardly ever travel. But if I did, I think I would prefer traveling alone. Especially if it was to go to a conference or something. I'd want to know that, when I got back to the hotel, things would be quiet!

That is the plus side of travelling alone, and my preferred way would be to have my own hotel room to get to after all the social activities.

Well me neither, the polar opposite actually, but Steemfest is special! You will actually hate hearing about it because 300+ people will be posting about it for at least two weeks nonstop, myself included.... Already sorry!

Since you seem to like Gin - ever tried Gin with the green Red Bull? Sounds a little crazy, but it is amazing!

I didn't even know there is green Red Bull, and I wouldn't want to ruin my gin with that! I do like gin based cocktails but the energy drink ones can be done with just some really shitty booze because it's not about the taste, but to get energised and fucked up 😂
Trust me, the Gin is not wasted that way - it's delicious! If we meet at SF, I will mix you one. Judge afterwards.

I'm planning on going to Steemfest, would be my first.. But I am really looking forward to meet all those great people and to get to know a bit more about all developments etc..
