The news are out, I am attending SteemFest, I am already in possession of my digital ticket thanks to @smooth, and you can read more about it here. But, there’s a fundamental question that I asked myself before as well, am I attending for business or for pleasure, or both?

When it comes to answering the Business or Pleasure question, especially on Steem, at least for me, there’s a bit of a gray zone since I don’t see my activities on the chain entirely as a business, nor entirely as pleasure; everything has a bit of both.

I enjoy making posts, they are fun to create, and I always like to read the feedback I receive but, there’s also the business aspect of this whole deal since the money I make are a powerful way to motivate me to create more. And, I also enjoy a lot to interact with Steemians, since I like people in general but, there’s also a networking aspect to the whole engagement thing. Thus, I see my entire work as a combination of business, and pleasure.

But, SteemFest is a bit different so, am I attending for Business or Pleasure?

The truth is that I would love to meet some whales at SF, and return home a Steem Millionaire but, that will probably not happen! Yes, I’m sure that I will meet a lot of cool minnows, dolphins, and maybe even whales but, I don’t see it as networking at all but, more as a massive party.

The real reason I’m attending the fest is to “party” with Steemians, to meet the people I interacted with over the past 1 year+, and have a great time. And, this is something I’m sure will happen.

You interact, you have fun, you work together with a lot of people over one year so, of course, you start to build a relationship of friendship with them. But, you never met them in person, you never shook hands, and you never shared drinks together, that, until SF happens. At least, that’s what the fest is to me, an opportunity to meet my friends and have a good time.

I’m not attending mainly for the conferences, even if I know quite a couple of the speakers, and I’m sure I’ll enjoy seeing them on the stage. I’m not attending for Krakow, Poland either, even if I will enjoy the shit out of that beautiful city. I am attending to meet the people!
