Week Fourteen Quest post: Astrids missing Recipe book

meeting up outside of gunnars cave. its frezzing cold its snow in the air. feels unnatural quiet. only sound is dripping water from inside the cave. its no foot step in the snow gong in or out from the cave just the darkness.

in the opining of the cave its five torch. the cave going inward then splitting in the three tunnels. its good then some of the colonist has been here before and maby remember the way. left, right or the middle?

when you take a torch the torch has a light source of three squares around you. it will not burn out. but it will extinguished if dropped in the water. it will use you Second wepon slot but you can drop the torch and use all your wepons. and to pick it up again.
normal sneak attack 1-3 to hit.

NEW player: "dots". and small circle with you two first letters in your name.
enemy's will be the classic red dots. (let see if this works better).

Okay, based on the conversation so far, I propose this as the marching order. We stay together and pick a path. Two by two. If a section thins out, we move into single file with torches in front and rear.

First row: @ecoinstant and @enjar carrying a torch
Second row: @paradigm42 carrying a torch alongside myself, bow at the ready
Third row: @cyberexplorer (with a torch) and Blaze
Fourth row: @methus and @stever82 carrying a torch

Left sounds good to me, but as the tail, I'll move wherever the head decides.

While I never been here before I seem to recall once at the Outpost a fellow talk about their last adventure in this cave and going on the left side of the path.

I didn't go on that quest either, but I defer to the lead. So @ecoinstant and @enjar can take us the way they think is best. I suggest we put a few feet of distance between rows, say 10 feet. That gives us a little breathing room and time to react without crashing into each other, if something happens.

In that case, I'll have to have my long sword out, not the bow.

Yes, agreed. I will lead with my sword and board, @enjar at my side carrying a torch. Based on the outpost rumors, we shall head left :)

I am all for the plan so far except that I am carrying a two handed weapon that does 4 damage so it would be better for me to be ready to attack since I don't think I can carry a torch and can do more damage.

A battle axe is two-handed? In that case, I'll have to take the torch. Since I'm carrying my sword and not the bow, that should work.

Then I agree to go with the plan as it is now for this turn. :)

There are seven of us and five torches. I recommend we stay together or, if we split, not into more than two groups. We'll move slower as a group but have more firepower in a conflict. Of course, the downside is, close quarters. We need to quickly decide the order of march - who is point, who pulls up the rear, and who carries the torches?

I notice @ecoinstant has a shield and a sword, so no torch for you. That also means you shouldn't be up front or pulling up the rear. ;-)

Agreed on all counts! I do think it is the middle for some reason though - maybe I have been here before....

I only have a club so I can hold a torch I am up to heading down the tunnel as a group. I won't be able to use my bow but it won't make sense in here anyways. So I pick up a torch and head with @ecoinstant, and @blockurator for sure.

I volunteer to guard the rear with my bow, but I think we should have someone with a torch right in front of/next to me.
