Yikes, that is pretty scary. I know for a while they were outlawing certain bats over here for softball. There were some that allowed the ball to come off the bat way too fast and it was injuring outfielders and infielders.

It is very scary that the danger is not only in the impact when players collide into each other, but from being cut open as well by a"stray" boot.
