For the Love of Life

Summer got off to a fast start! Let’s begin back in May. Early in May when the weather shapes up, we take a school break. The beauty of homeschooling is that we pick and choose when to break and we go year round. As the mother and educator, I enjoy this much more because we do not step out of routine for too long, nor do we lose momentum. Additionally, we have flexibility in vacationing and extracurricular opportunities. It is RICH!

May began with a holistic health chapter. I’ve been told several times I have HPV 16/18, a very oncogenic virus. For it I would like to blame Merck and Gardasil - wishing I had been awake enough not to take that vaccine ten years ago (when this whole mess began). So in light of he completely debilitated medical system in America, we opted to try naturopathic solutions first. The effects have been astounding. I like to think of myself as a good scientist and amateur biohacker. But this called for an intervention.

I found myself anxious. Needing a distraction, we visited Grandma for a week. I ran Bloomsday again this year and enjoyed it. A 12k, 55 minute finish time and lunch out with my husband to celebrate. F5471833-3E81-4614-A7AE-C7E8397FAEDD.jpeg

The disruption of the visit to our schedules felt great. But we were eager to return and finish up Kindergarten coursework. Then it was on to the Boise Summer Reading Program. 78E81CE9-E49D-4AF4-8F00-0079DF3ED7CF.png
Our little city has so much to offer for children and families. This we enjoyed thoroughly! https://boiselibrary.beanstack.org/profiles/1746381/programs/8530

In addition to reading 399 books, my five year old daughter and I began the Rush Revere bookseries. Oh how fun it has been! We began the third, “Rush Revere and the American Revolution” just at the tail end of July. These books make history come alive. https://www.rushrevere.com/AdventureSeriesBooks/index.html

The 30th of June I ran the Boise Front Trail Run, a ten miler situated atop our ski resort. The nearly 3,500 ft elevation difference took a toll. That was, in spite of the challenge, a 1 hour 47 minute endurance test and blissful escape. 6F184557-C8B6-47B2-87FC-38C42A04E8DB.jpegB617477D-29CD-4425-BFD6-DEFA72BB966E.jpeg

We enjoyed the Fourh of July downtown. The annual parade is one of America’s best. My girls love it, especially the Highlanders Bagpipe Performance! F146EB4E-AA5D-4403-965E-CDD3AC7580FB.jpegCD7FEE3B-478B-4FA2-8DE4-96D5641E420B.jpeg6E6207E6-B6BF-4068-BA3C-DD68DBCE71B1.jpeg

We took several picnics to the Idaho Botanical Gardens and entered a Firewise Landscaping Contest. 10010F7D-ED40-4D48-9D09-915EF8BD5852.jpeg44F65EE6-78D4-4DD4-A225-EC6E5515531F.jpeg
Although devoid of victory, it was interesting...as the world is an inferno this summer in the Northern Hemishpere.

A few birthday parties, a lot more miles on dirt and trail than road, swim lessons, herb and flower gardening. FD8BCA9F-6F68-4325-ABFC-6E2C3E7E6601.jpeg04C6A7EC-176F-48E9-BF38-DE0A3B2BB902.jpegF2336B6A-0627-48C5-B6D4-EB036A74DD89.jpeg

My eldest ran the Capitol Classic and the Run Wild at the Zoo races. She is a champ! EAEC0125-BBE7-4969-9F02-191FD8C53CF6.jpeg432D896A-BD6C-4BB4-9EB0-E267A92486E7.jpeg

This past weekend, I won the womens’ Run for Your Life 5k, a 19 minute 25 second victory. 4th overall finish because I got lazy and let go of second overall the last quarter mile. To be fair, the night before I had done an ionic detox at the ND’s office. I’m really noticing the impact of a no-sugar ketogenic lifestyle with all the chlorella, lyop-spheric colostrum and vitamin c, the probiotics, the cleanse, my energy and so much more. I am so exhausted from the physicality of detoxing with intensity. But....

We rounded out the day with a trip to Bruneau Dunes ObservatoryB4DC5F5C-D606-43BD-8E25-60E49DF2735D.jpeg

Because I am obsessed with study of the Grand Solar Minimum and space weather (check out Suspicious Observers on YouTube!) we were treated to a solar viewing! Then the little one entertained a hushed audience with her oohs and ahs over a Morgan Freeman narration of Cosmic Voyage (an old IMAX film, I believe). We don’t have a television and at nearly twos he has never seen a movie. At least we didn’t get booted from the tiny cinema :). 👶. We also had the opportunity to view Venus and Jupiter. So amazing, given planetary events this year.

We have been busy making clothes to enter in the Fair in two weeks. I try to make at least one sewing effort each year for a new entry. I’m proud of the items - it is difficult with all the hubbub.

We got into race series events. Tuesday night mountain trail runs for me. Wednesday night mountain bike races for my better half. Tried out the bungee jumping and mountain coaster at Bogus Basin. We attended a Lavender Festival by Red Chair Lavender. We have picked fresh fruit and grown together. Even managed to squeeze ina date night!

This weekend, we are planning to enjoy the Huckleberry Festival up north with the kids, pick huckleberries (which cannot be cultivated domestically), enjoy the festivities and perhaps enter the Huckleberry Trot race. http://donnellychamber.com/events/huckleberry-festival/huckleberry-trot-registration/7ABDBC9F-FD13-40E6-B4ED-0B460099F5C4.jpegD982932A-8B3B-4165-9708-AD90AA6AEBAC.jpeg
Those berries are fifty bucks a gallon. And a gallon with kids is a long day! We have to carry a pistol and bear spray. Wild critters love to fend us off.

Ah, and coming up this week, the girls and I will not go to Grove Plaza together, sadly,0C7D96E2-10F1-49B1-97BD-E2FB70E3F89A.jpeg
But I will be attending the Idaho Bitcoin Group meetup, graced by Adam the @bitcoinmeister himself.

Since I edit the other steemit account and newsletter for IBG, check us out!

Oh, I am still running. Til the day I die. September a half marathon, October if I have cleared the virus and gotten positive results from the year of natural healing - a full marathon! Then Zeitgeist half in November and enjoying the kids turning two and six, the holidays.....

We start up homeschool again this next week with the Ron Paul Curriculum and Classical Conversations. American Heritage Girls. Ballet class. Piano lessons (glad I can teach that for now). Coding. Art. Bible Study.

There you are @toofasteddie. A bit of a running report (run down for a good play on words), and a little it more than just mileage!

I really love life. Eternity is on my heart more than anything, but life...it is very good!

Great job on the 12k and 55 minutes....that’s impressive. Thanks for all the photos. Summer is the best.

The only thing that would top this summer is if we could get out from under the thick haze from all the wildfires. The air smacks of arson and geo-engineering. Btw, how is it that the criminals who spray us with heavy metals never go on trial?!

Many thanks - the 55 minutes was a good run. Getting better with age 👍

Yes I have read and seen the YouTubes discussing the suspiciousness of these fires....the guilty will be exposed :-)

Ah, a bit frustrating. Those images were all positioned correctly before posting. You will just have to turn your head! I am not going to edit them for now. Today is far too busy ❤️🍒⭐️
