RE: Sam-saturday--Something About.Me
Ooh, I like the tall ship. Those old seweing machines held up very well. There was a foot-powered one in a hostel I stayed in once that they still used to repair clothes for guests.
I always thought it would be fun to crash the Duluth Tall Ship festival with a pirate ship, cannons blazing.
That photo was taken at a Tall Ships gathering in Port Washington.,Wisconsin on Lake Michigan. The Bounty was a reconstruction of the original 1787 sailing ship HMS Bounty. Built in 1960, she sank off the coast of North Carolina during Hurricane Sandy on 29 October 2012, not long after I took that photo. Two people drowned, including the Captain. The Bounty was commissioned by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer for the 1962 film Mutiny on the Bounty and was used in Pirates of the Caribbean.
